Inside Xefe's payroll engine: Timor-Leste labour, tax and INSS law implemented rule by rule, every figure beside its article, and a calculator you can run on your own numbers.
Xefe keeps its screens simple because the hard part lives in the engine: Timor-Leste's labour, tax and social-security law, implemented rule by rule and checked against how payroll is really done here.
The payroll core implements Law 4/2012, Law 8/2008, Law 12/2016, DL 20/2017 and DL 30/2021 — with the statutory text quoted in the code next to the arithmetic it governs. These are tested rules, not lookup tables.
Rates, thresholds and rounding conventions are settings, with the law as their default — a rate change never needs a new version of Xefe. What is never configurable is inventing a value: if a statutory input is missing, Xefe says so and stops.
